The Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion (CDFI) is the Knowledge Partner at the Digital Innovation Lab, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. The Executive Director of CDFI serves on the Steering Committee of the Lab.
CDFI is an autonomous centre housed within the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), which is a not-for-profit Society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The vision of CDFI is to build a self-sustainable ecosystem driven through technology in promoting electronic payments delivery, thus making a range of financial services accessible extensively to the under-serviced, excluded and poorer sections of society. Towards that end, the Centre supports the development, pilot-testing, and/or roll-out of innovations that promise to expand access to digital financial services to excluded segments of population.
CDFI has received funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Omidyar Network, and Tata Trusts.
